RECAP!! - Part 2

I'm back for another recap!

January 09: Had my exams! My exam result was much better than those two previous Semesters! Yey!...I am happy :D

February 09: Our class made a tour to Dubai for a week (the first week of February). It has been good to have the opportunity to visit Dubai, the most talked country in the world(?) for it is the place for all the tallest, the biggest, the longest, the fastest and whatnot records of world icon such as its different types and shapes of buildings including hotels, shopping complexes etc. It is the paradise of shopping too as some people would call it which I found has been overstated! I guess Dubai has been too way exaggerated; e.g. the best place for shopping due to its duty free shops, where all iconic buildings can be found etc.  My personal view after having visited the place that Dubai is not as great as they are supposed to be! Duty free shops are still expensive (as I compared some items I bought in Switzerland). With loads of money on hands, the first thing came to mind was to build world's records as many as possible without really compensating the purpose.  No doubt that Dubai has tremendously been developed from the industrial area to a metropolitan city. However, being so engrossed to develop the country, it has taken the country to the brink of being oblivious to the surroundings such as whether really caters the needs of people.  Traffic congestion is everywhere and dust is really visible due to non-stop constructions. Metro Dubai will be completed by 2010 which will serve to most of the tourist areas. After the visit, we thought that the Metro would not serve the purpose of reducing the congestions which are worsen each day as  it will be merely be targeted mainly to tourists and not to the local people or workers! (Workers are urged to use public transportation such as bus which is cheaper...lol!). Had a chance to make a short visit Abu Dhabi too :) It could be nicer than Dubai but couldn't report more as our trip was shorter and didn't managed to go around the city (dalam bas-tourism office-dalam bas-gourmet show-dalam bas-masjid-dalam bas-Dubai)

Coming back from Dubai, I received a  visit from my cousin Alexander who happened to attend a one-month course in the Netherlands.  He completed his course and headed off to Lugano.  He spent one week with me. We made a day trip to Milan, walked around - taking photos, that was the thing we both could do..lol! I brought him to Foxtown, the shopping complex for all the branded goods which are sold on factory price (40-50% cheaper from the normal retail price or sometimes it will be even more). I wanted to show him the place but ended up it was me spending few hundreds CHF! uwaaa.... I totally forgot that I actually didn't have money due to 'rambang mata'...uwaaaa...

March 09: Let me recall! I think there was nothing special except for a disastrous thing!  I enrolled for one elective subject - 6 ECTS (a very sontoloyo one, which I knew it was even more sontoloyo later) and after 2 days attending the class, I found that I was not fit in that subject! I decided to unenroll myself but the Director of the faculty didn't permit to do so accompanied with a blackmail as his level of respect would go down to zero to students who dropped it! (Org zero-defect or zero inflation...dia pula zero respect hahaha...). I have my own reason not to pursue; I know my own capability. I was not capable to continue!  According to the rules and regulations of the university, any electives can be dropped without being penalised! Finally, in response to the harsh email I received from them, with all the guts and some sanity left in me, I dropped the subject! Fullstop! I surely know I didn't breach the rules and procedures of the university!  Initially, I discussed with the assistance about my predicament but they just couldn't care less as if I didn't pay any single amount! In replacement, I found 2 other subjects with 3 credit hours each (as I need 6 credit hours more).  One subject is 100% assignment-based and the other one is 30% group-assignment and 70% exam. I managed to complete my individual assignment and at the same time our group also has completed the group assignment  without so much hassles compared to the sontoloyo subject earlier on. (Marah abis ni..dkt2 jadi mcm incredible hulk!).  My greatest empathy to my classmates who were forced to do the 250 pages sontoloyo report as of now they are still finalising their assignments - but couldn't blame them; what would you expect if you are forced to prepare theses for 4-5 people! muahahaha...gila btl bah tu cigu!

April 09:  We had our Easter break. My housemate and I made a trip to Budapest, Zagreb and Ljubljana. We did this in a week! It was tooooooo tiring but I guess was really a good experience especially overnight at the cold and freezing airport in Bergamo & sleeping at the train station etc :p. Budapest is great with a lot of things to see. You will need minimum 4 days to cover the area or if you want to visit places in slow pace, you may need longer that that! Zagreb was a small city, there is not so many things to see as places of interests in Croatia are found in the coastal areas such as Dubrovnik, Split etc. We thought of visiting Dubrovnik but it takes about 10 hours by land transportation to reach that place from Zagreb. So due to time constraint, we abandoned the idea (hope to visit it before I go home :p). Last destination was Ljubljana, Slovenia. It is a very nice place but I guess it is more expensive compare to Zagreb.

May 09: ....Beyonce concert <--- the highlight of the month...ekekekek ....other than that, I am now writing my thesis .....uwaaaa (biar btl2 write la ni) ....
